M4 lab 7
I chose to make bruschetta.
Here I have all of my ingredients that consist of a roma tomato, garlic, basil, salt, pepper, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar.
All of my ingredients mixed together.
- This recipe was delicious I love balsamic vinegar and tomatoes so it was right up my alley. The sweetness of the tomato with the tartness of the vinegar complemented each other very well. Texture was chunky.
- What went really well was adding some of my favorite things together to make a new dish. Something I would do next time would be to serve it warm and add some burrata cheese underneath my tomato mix.
- I didn't cook tomato sauce for this lab but I have before when I made spaghetti and it got thicker over time because of the breakdown of pectin and other polysaccharides that is in tomatoes.
- Bruschetta is more watery because it uses fresh ingredients that contain there water unlike the sauce where the ingredients get cooked down losing there water content.
